Vaccination Schedule – What we need to know

pediatricians-say-no-to-the-CDC-vaccination-schedule_mini

“Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future” John F. Kennedy

To many parents out there this will sound like I am against vaccines, but I am not.  I am however, against the unbelievable amount of vaccines injected into our children before the age of 5.  If we took a minute and went through all of the ingredients that comprise these vaccines we would be absolutely shocked.  Many of these vaccines contain metals which interfere with brain cell development; that alone should be a huge concern, not only for parents, but for doctors as well.

As parents we are constantly worried about whether or not we are protecting our children or providing the best welfare for our children.  Many times we rely on the opinions of others or the scare tactics that surround us or our children’s doctors, we are supposed to trust our doctors.  At the end of the day the best thing we can do is be informed and make well-informed decisions for our children; they depend on us.  The following video is very informative.  It is the 1st video of a 7 video series.  Please watch it, and be on the lookout for the following 5.  It is extremely important to be informed, especially if you are a first time mother or father with questions about the vaccine schedule.

I know many parents are absolutely for vaccines and they rigidly follow the CDC schedule without question.  Or sometimes they do their research except that what is out there is only the half of the truth; the half the CDC wants us to see, the half that keeps every parent in fear, the half that convinces us we must vaccinate our children with an array of toxins before they are 5, before their brains are fully developed, before we allow their own bodies to immunize themselves against such things as allergies or common colds, ect.

The sad part is that most doctors are not well-informed either, they are just following rules; they are just programmed since medical school to just follow the book.  Which is why it is our duty as parents to do our research. Although money drives many paths in this country, for the most part “most doctors are good people who are just trying to help, but they are hamstrung by a broken system  which discourages questioning medical dogma and even encourages physicians to coerce patients into accepting medical procedures which they do not consent.” The Truth About Vaccines

From one parent to another, I ask you to please be informed, educate yourself in order to make the best decision for your child/ren – They are our future, we must protect them.

Our Healing Journey-Hooray for a solution to the problem!

Jaxson Blue

This is super exciting news as we finally got an answer to what the problem is and can now really get Jaxson on the right track! We went to the neurotologist (not to be confused with neurologist) this past Monday for the glycerin dehydration test I mentioned in my previous post, in order to determine if Jaxson’s balance issue is due to an imbalance of fluid in the inner ear. Indeed, this is the issue with his balance and seems to have been all along. The testing was 3 hours long and consisted of a few preliminary balance/coordination examinations, however, the main assessment of his balance that was used throughout the 3 hours at different times, entailed having Jaxson place his feet together while standing and closing his eyes. Jaxson immediately wobbles and falls to one side or the other while doing this normally.

After the preliminary assessment, Jaxson was then given the glycerin solution which is essentially just sugar, a really sweet drink. Jaxson was disgusted by it and I almost had to force him to take it. The glycerin kicks in and his balance is retested in the same manner. Wow! Significant improvement in balance this time around (about an hour post ingestion). However we wait another 45 minutes before his balance is retested for a third time while the glycerin is still active, and voila! I’m going to have to call the results a miracle! Jaxson, in the midst of crying hysterically because he was so thirsty (you can tell by the picture how miserable he was during the testing) was able to stay fully balanced with his eyes closed for almost a minute I would say. We would have kept him in that position longer but his pleading for water got so annoying; all I remember was the doctor and nurse looked at each other with a smile. They smiled because they had figured out and could now confirm that the issue is an imbalance of the inner ear fluid. In medical terms this condition is called endolymphatic hydrops. Basically we don’t know the cause as it seems 50% of the cases are caused by trauma to the inner ear and the other 50% (which involves Ménière’s disease if I’m not mistaken) is sporadic (pretty much meaning, there is no known cause). Nevertheless, I’ll take a wild guess and point to my friend Gentamicin as the main culprit once again.

Again, all blood work we have done has come back negative/normal which is great but if my memory serves me correctly I remember the nurse from one of the many specialists’ offices we took him to mention that the electrolytes were a little low but most likely because he had not had any water or food before the blood work which makes sense, however, reading about endolymphatic hydrops just last night, I’m thinking I’m going to have to look into this a little further.

IMG_1381

Perhaps the hydrops have nothing to do with the Gentamicin damage although we know the hearing loss was definitely a secondary effect of same specially considering the fact that Jaxson passed his newborn hearing screen before he left the hospital as a newborn, needless to say the neurotologist concurred and even wrote in his notes that the Gentamicin most probably caused the hearing loss.

Now, as for the hydrops, and back to the point I was trying to make above regarding the possible slight imbalance in the electrolytes (I will call the doctor’s office to find out the exact results regarding the electrolytes. I know it was something very slight as she only briefly mentioned it in passing and automatically attributed it to him having fasted for the blood work, but now I’m curious and need all the facts so I will call them today to get all the details and will inform them of the results from the neurotologist’s testing).

More importantly, what I’m going to do is compile all the different tests and information I’ve gathered since we have an appointment with a well-known integrative, holistic medicine doctor in the area in February. I’m thinking with the indicated solution the neurotologist recommended which is to give Jaxson a diuretic called Lasix to restore his balance, and with the proper diet to restore electrolytes, etc that may be low in his body, through the help of the holistic Doctor and her in-house nutritionist, we got this! Jaxson may become superman out of all of this.

I’m just so grateful there is a solution to the imbalance. Thank you so much GOD/UNIVERSE!

I will update you all on how he does as soon as he begins his Lasix treatment and anything additional. Jaxson is also currently receiving physical therapy outside of school and will begin occupational therapy as well to fully catch him up and strengthen his balance and coordination which I suspect will significantly improve with the lasix alone which may in turn shorten the terms of the therapies in general.

Thank you for reading!

Much Love,

Belmax Saki

An Honest Child

The Honest Company
Honestly, The Honest Company has to be one of the best, if not the best, children related, natural, eco-friendly product based companies to hit the market.  We are all well aware of the vast amounts of chemicals that now make part of probably every product we use for our children, including foods, cleaning products, body essentials, etc.  The best way to provide our children with the least amounts of chemically filled products is by either by making our own cleaning product concoctions at home or making them food from scratch.

As a breastfeeding mom, I managed to stay away from giving my daughter regular milk for almost two years and used formula on rare occasions.  As soon as she started eating I would stay away from already made baby foods as much as possible and make her my own with the baby bullet (add amazon link), which was a lifesaver.  Needless to say, I have been working hard towards staying away from most chemically infused products since she was born.  However, chemicals are not just in our foods, but around the house too and every cleaning product we use.

I have been hearing about The Honest Company for a while now and had been meaning to try out some of their products on my daughter and see how they completed her.  As well as try out their cleaning and bath and body products (haven’t gotten to that yet).  The products are non-toxic, eco-friendly and as gentle for the child as it should always be.

I finally got around to ordering my trial pack which I recently received and started using. I ordered the diaper and wipes bundle and essentials bundle.  Let me just say, I absolutely love every product! The body wash/shampoo is gentle, non-toxic, tear-free and plant-based cleanser.  I have been using it in every bath and hair wash.  It leaves her body nice and soft and her hair clean and shiny.  You don’t even need to use that much as it makes the perfect lather with just a couple of drops on the washcloth and a couple of drops on the hair. I need to try it on my hair and body as it is good for the entire family.

The multi-surface cleaner is plant-based, biodegradable and non-toxic. I love to use all over her high-chair, glass coffee table and training potty.  It has been absolutely amazing because I can now put her snacks on the tray with no worries because I know what I cleaned it with.

Last, but not least, the diapers and wipes, they are fantastic! Not only are the diapers super cute with different eco-friendly design prints for your taste and style, but they are super absorbent, soft, don’t deteriorate and are comfortable.  The wipes are just amazing. They are biodegradable, hypoallergenic, chlorine-free and thick cloth based.  You only need one wipe and you are done!

In her two years, I have tried several diaper and wipes brands and have had some major disasters; with some diapers deteriorating, giving her rashes or not absorbing properly and causing leakage. I have tried them during the day to see how easily she can move around as well as at night to see if she can go through the night comfortably with minimal to no change and both ways have been a success for sure.  These are by far my favorite diapers; from the cute prints I can match her outfits to, to the absorbency and comfort level and I love that they are eco-friendly and biodegradable. Don’t get me wrong, I am looking forward to the day where she no longer needs diapers, but for now, she is definitely an “Honest girl.”

But their amazing products, don’t stop here.  The Honest Company has thought of everything. They have a baby section with diapers, wipes, healing balm, etc.  They also have the bath and body section which carries all bath and body essentials for the entire family. They have all household cleaning supplies, such as dishwasher, glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, all purpose cleaner, laundry detergent and more.  Under their Health and Wellness section you will find multi-vitamins, prenatal vitamin, children’s vitamins and such.  Under their Collectives section they have essentials baby items such as carriers, diaper bag, stroller, etc. This company is just fantastic.

I absolutely reccomend giving The Honest Company a try. I am sure you won’t be dissapointed.  Not only are you providing your family with great natural, non-toxic, hypoallergenic products, but you are also contributing to the wellness of our planet by using their also biodegradable and eco-friendly products.

xoxo,

Karintia
